Meet the Stylist Behind BeautyxxJessie

Hi, I'm Jessie — the stylist, student, and dreamer behind BeautyxxJessie. I figured the best way to kick off this blog was to introduce myself properly, because if you're going to follow this journey with me, you should know who's behind the chair.

I grew up in Belington, West Virginia — a small town where everyone knows your name and your mama's name too. From a young age, I was drawn to hair. Not in a casual way, but in a can't-stop-thinking-about-it, always-practicing-on-someone kind of way. I'd do my own hair, my sisters' hair, my cousins' hair, my friends' hair. I didn't realize at the time that I was building something. I was just doing what I loved.

Now, I'm a cosmetology student at Aveda Institute in Wilmington, North Carolina, and every single day in that building confirms that I made the right choice. I'm learning the science behind the craft — color theory, hair chemistry, scalp health — while also developing the soft skills that make a great stylist: listening, patience, and making someone feel completely at ease from the moment they sit down.

BeautyxxJessie is more than my handle. It's the brand I'm building around a simple belief: every woman deserves to feel beautiful. Not just on special occasions — every day. I want the women who sit in my chair to leave feeling seen, confident, and like the best version of themselves. That's my goal, and everything I'm doing right now is working toward it.

I'm not where I want to be yet — and that's okay. I'm in the process. I'm in the school hours, the late nights studying, the early mornings practicing. But I know exactly where I'm going. This blog is how I document the journey. I hope you'll stick around.
